Few industrial projects involve just one problem. Whether it is a plant expansion, the modernization of a production line, or the development of a new piece of equipment, most projects involve a chain of interconnected engineering decisions — from process engineering and equipment design to automation, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
Yet many project delays, rework, and unexpected costs do not result from a weakness in any individual discipline. They arise from the gaps between them. When mechanical design does not fully account for electrical and control requirements, when equipment does not fit the actual site conditions, or when automation is addressed only after equipment has been built, project risk increases significantly.
